More Flexible Settings Configuration

Independent Peak Picking for Quantification and EIC Analysis

Chrom Best Method 2.0 introduces the ability to configure peak picking parameters independently for the quantification chromatogram and the EICs used during analysis, improving peak identification and assignment accuracy.

 

 

Blind Regions Customization

Distinct blind regions can now be selected for each method, independently of one another. This is a key enhancement, as methods with different gradients and run times require excluding different retention time regions from the analysis.

Prioritization of Scoring Criteria

Users can now assign different weights to the parameters used to score chromatographic separation methods, enabling prioritization of those that are most relevant for each use case.

  

Improved Analysis

Extended Matching Methods

Users can now independently select the mass function used for compound matching based on structural or molecular weight information, regardless of the settings in Mnova. A monoisotopic mass-based matching algorithm has been added in this version, with input options prioritized in the following sequence: m/z, molecular formula, and monoisotopic mass.

 

 

Quantification Based on MS Functions

Chrom Best Method can now be applied to compounds lacking chromophores and therefore without a UV signal, using any of the available MS functions for quantification.

 

Enhanced Purity Assessment

Peak Purity can now be calculated with higher accuracy using the MCR-algorithm, which is based on the sum of relative areas of peak components, containing the target m/z. Learn more.

Users can also select the function on which purity is calculated, choosing between a positive or a negative function, or the function used for matching.

 

Peak Width as a Scoring Option 

Peak width has been added as an option for method scoring as it is relevant for assessing the quality of a separation method: the wider the peak, the poorer its separation. The width units can be chosen between RT in minutes or % of run length.

 

 

EIC Analysis for Pooled Samples

Chrom Best Method now includes a dedicated workflow for determining optimal separation conditions for chiral compounds in pooled samples. Based on EIC analysis of individual mixture components, users can specify the structure or molecular weight of chiral compound pairs to generate EIC chromatograms, identify peaks corresponding to the reference chromatogram, and accurately assign target compounds.

Additions to Output and Reporting

A new tab in Chrom Best Method gives users control over the page order in reports, as well as the option to display scoring parameters as scores, their underlying values, or a combination of both.

Chrom Best Method now generates a dedicated PDF report for each analysis, ensuring clear and structured documentation even for large numbers of targets and isomers. This is particularly valuable for pooled chiral analysis using the new EIC quantification mode, with one page per compound presenting a clean table of all isomer results.
